Andrew Rae

Andrew Rae is illustrator, his style I feel falls into the cartoonist category. I really like the complexity of these illustrations, yet they appear to be produced in an effortless manor. They have a nice contemporary feel. Andrew has also done some work for mtv, which can be seen on his website http://www.andrewrae.org.uk/. You can clearly see why his style suits this type of brand/genre.

Its nice to see illustration being produced on the larger scale, e.g in shop interior etc. I think further ideas could be developed within this area.

I really like the use of Illustration in place of the wallpaper. Feature walls are so popular, this just puts a more unique feel to them. This artwork comes across as very organic and unplanned, even though I am sure a large amount of thought has gone into it's creation. I can see it working well on channels like MTV and E4, its a very exploring style.

These are really nice! Although illustration is widely used it is very rare to see it on such a large scale! I love the childlike qualities of these...almost like a naughty child has drawn on the walls!

The illustration feels very similar yet on such a large scale does make it more exciting, phisically drawing on walls seems naughty and adds a certain charm to the whole shop interior.it definately needs to be in the right context though.

hey iv got this guys work on y blog totally agree with your comment, really like his work, makes it all look easy. Really like that with the red illustration it works as a whole and then when you look at it close up you realise how much is going on in the picture.
