'Sleepwalkers' by Sabrina Bonggiovanni

A web museum of Bonggiovanni's photography work can be found on http://www.sabrinabongiovanni.com/.

I really liked this series of sleepwalkers due to the playful quality. It shows how themes can be greatly experimented with within photography. A simple idea but it works well and is rather amusing. The photography basis itself still on the human figure but in a different light. There is a twist being made on the simple figure portrait.

Jason Orton

'JASON ORTON LIVES IN LONDON. HE HAS WORKED AS AN EDITORIAL PHOTOGRAPHER FOR NEWSPAPERS AND MAGAZINES THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. HIS LATEST WORK REPRESENTS A SHIFT TO MORE LONG-TERM PROJECTS. SINCE 2004 HE HAS PRODUCED AN EXTENSIVE STUDY OF URBAN REGENERATION IN AN AREA EAST OF LONDON CALLED THE 'THAMES GATEWAY. HIS BOOK 350 MILES WITH WRITER KEN WORPOLE WAS PUBLISHED IN 2005.' http://blanka.co.uk/Photography/Jason_Orton.

I really like these images for their simplicity, although they remain viewable and interesting. They drawn you in to the main focal point of the image, whether it because of ...intense colour, strange objects, movement etc. The suggestion of regeneration is somewhat amusing, as the pictures do not reflect any regeneration, perhaps this is the point.

Dan Tobin Smith

'Dan Tobin Smith has a knack of photographing the everyday and turning it in to something epic' Creative Review, Sept 2006.

I have to agree, these images seem more powerful than they should be. Beyond this he mould an object or objects to how he wants you to view it. For example potentially the image of the dead butterflies could become quite sinister, I am not disputing that the image does not have deadly side, it is dead butterflies after all, however he has also created an image of artistic beauty, and pattern, that seems to take your mind off what you are actually looking at. Similarly the leaves of the grass appear dynamic; maybe this is due to the un-natural look of the grass and how the leaves are placed evenly. This makes the image look odd in terms it is not how you would normally envisage a nature scene.

Aerial View

This just tickled me, I love it when something is presented literal in image - kool idea, that could be extended further, there is plenty more shots! I also love the rawity of the shot.
