Block balconies created in 'Izola on the Slovenian coast offers bona fide affordable options for many young families. The team of Ofis Arhitekti won a national design competition for their design of two apartment buildings each containing 30 units of varying size ranging from studios to three-bedrooms.' I am not 100% percent sure about these balconies, however they are certainly different and experimental, with the use of colour. On my journey in to London from Essex, I have seen such use of bright colour on newly built apartment blocks near Stratford (maybe due to the development of the area because of the 2012 Olympics. Could influences have been taking from such designs as these Ofis Block balconies? Again this brightly coloured fresh look similar to the 2012 olypics logo seems to be revealed.
One word comes to mind 'Ikea'. Is this contemporary or mass manufactured rubbish?
